Harry potter night

Last Friday room7 had our harry potter night fundraiser. There was a lot of food, drinks and fun. I was Harry but I forgot the most important part; the scar because I was in a rush. The food that I was bought was voldomorts pulverised blood which consisted of lime fizzy drink and ice cream. The quiz was the highlight of the night with my group coming second in a sudden death match.

Bye Bye

Paul the octopus experienced the biggest milestone in life: he died. He was a charity and a gambling guru. Stories might be told about him in the future, I know I would. He had Fame and food what more could he want? At least we know he had a great life and he passed away peacefully.

Christchurch earthquake

Recently the Canterbury region has had an earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale. This earthquake is bigger then the one the struck Haiti earlier this year, luckily it struck in the early hours of the morning when most people were in bed. Since then the aftershocks have been the size of earthquakes all on there own they measure from 5.8 to 6.5 on the Richter scale.Although there were no deaths it doesn't mean that the damage wasn't horrific, house foundations have been split in half or they have sunken into the ground by a large amount.
It's amazing that we haven't felt it up here in Nelson.

clockwork review

Suspense was almost on every page and it helped keep the book flowing. An example of suspense is when Sir Ironsoul approaches Gretel in an attempt to kill her.

The evil wasn’t proper evil it was more unnatural evil like when Prince Otto cuts out his heart and places it in the clockwork machine to keep his family dynasty going.

There was one major part of horror, that’s where the Baron sacrifices himself by jumping out of the sled right into a pack of blood thirsty wolves so Prince Otto and the clockwork machine can flee.

Totara kitchen

Last week 0ur monthly totara trading was on. I'm in a group with Quinn, Lachie, Ronan and Max we hauled in so much money that money box is over flowing, we decided next time we are going to by out all the stores possible and just pig out. Our stall was called Ultimate food, we had the most variety out of all the stalls and we earned the most.

winter sports

Yesterday the inter-school winter sports tournament was on. I played miniball along Ben R, Toby, BenW, Liam, Devon, Jonti, Daniel, Samantha, Shae and Talya we weren't all in the same team there was team 1 and 2 all organised Dave in room2. Both teams won every game except when we versed each. My team was Ben W, Devon, Jonti, Daniel, Ronan and me.

speechs

Term 3 of school is based around speeches. We've only got to do 3 findouts this term instead of 4 because our speech counted as 1. The speech regionals are coming up so Jonathan wants us to do our complete best. Mines on cricket which was fairly easy since I know quite a lot about cricket and I play.

Ski trip

The totara syndicate is deciding if not to go skiing at rainbow ski field on September. All the kids are hoping and praying that we would go skiing. Me I'm one of those kids hoping and praying that we can. Last year I went skiing as a year 5 and I got kicked off the intermediate slope because I crashed into the pulley line.

Rich task

We just finished our 3rd or 4Th rich task this one was on forces and how they act. I did one on a ballista which worked well when it didn't glitch. The presentation was really easy since I knew a lot about it, it was pretty informative considering I made it in half an hour.

rugby rep trials

On Sunday a few chosen players got to go to the rugby rep trials and trials for the nelson city rep team. We spent 1 hour doing ball skills and then we split up into two teams and played a 45 minute game of rugby which was had and fun at the same time. After I was really tired and hungry because it was past lunch time. I got maccas for lunch which was really nice because of my deprived taste buds.

Mike ward exibition

Yesterday our class went to the suter to see a Mike Ward exibiton. He made some disturbing stuff was one of the mane comments on his work which I agree with. Wen did a drawing of ourselves holding up a sign of something we value so that was pretty fun. We got back at 10 to 3 so we went outside and just played till the bell.

My little sister

Right now I'm a sleep deprived little boy thanks to my little sister who wakes me up in the middle of the night at least TWICE!!!!. I still get to stay up till nine sometimes which I'm really happy about. When I try to hold her she makes this really big fuss because shes hungry. At bath time she tries to swim like a frog which is actually really funny.

Amazing race

On Friday the totara syndicate had the totara amazing race. My team was me,dad,Sam M and Bryn. The race was from school all the way out to Atawhai. Some clues wee really easy like the centre of NZ others like this random thing out at founders park. When we got up to the centre of NZ dad thought we should of done it first rather than last. It started at 10:20am and finished at 2pm.

big brother on the horizen

God! I'm a big brother in 3 weeks its gone to fast,so fast its scary.Mums having a baby in 3 weeks, its gonna be a girl :p+my dog has done something to his hind leg,it was so bad his heart was zooming and he was shaking all over but hes alright:)

Anzac day

On Sunday it's Anzac day and the dawn parade is happening. Our class is going to make something to lay instead poppies.The dawn parade is at 5;30 AM bugger!!! no sleep in.

Findouts awards

Before school finished last term we had findout arwards. There was a best year 5 hardcopy and best year 6 hardcopy,a best year 5 digital and best year 6 award and a supreme award.Toby won the supreme award, Ben R won the best year 6 hardcopy,David won the year 5 hardcopy,Ronan won the year 5 digital and Toby the year 6 digital. We also had a pizza lunch.

I caught a cold

Over the holidays I caught a really bad cold which I still have. It keeps me up at night and annoys me so much. I wish it would go away. I got to hook up my ps2 at mums work because she had to work. I also got to hire some movies and games.

I'm reading a really good book called eragon I'm giving it 10 out of 10 rating. Its about a boy who finds a strange stone stone which is really 1 of the last dragon eggs. Hes destined to become a dragon rider.He doesn't know it but there's a war over him.

As the HATO leaves for Miami a scope rises out of the water,something is moving as fast as a jet plane hits the boat.The boat is sinking life rafts a bombing the water.people scream in horror as people and the HATO is submerged. Phillip wakes to find a black person on the raft with him.

camp

camp was sweeet we did heaps of things except for the bonfire because it was rained off but paintball oh that good!I shot my dad in the BUTT it was sooooo funny to watch.Ben W got shot in the manhood it was funny as well.We also went up Peppin island which was like a walk in the park for me,at the top we got such a mouthwatering lunch.

CAMP!!!!!!

Tomorrow we are having our CAMP! IT'S GOING TO MINT. I'm go in paint balling secretly I'm hoping Toby's on the other team so I can smother him in paint. Mehehe. We get to have smores
and sausages and potato over a fire.YUM! we get to go hiking up Peppin island and sketch the wreck of the Delaware.

Swimming carnival

We just had the swimming carnival yesterday. It was REALLY nerve racking,the first race I had was freestyle and then breaststoke. I had to wait till race twenty before I could get back in the pool for the piggy back race. I only had to wait another four races till I could get back in the pool and from there it was twentyfour,twentyfive and twenty six which was the realys, I had to race in the c and b teams which both came third.

totara 2010 triathlon

We had our triathlon on 23 of Feb it fun everyone was buzzing with excitment. The five girls had a good race for room 7 with first and second however the boys wern't so good but we pulled through it sooo fun.
